How to Use Our Moving Quote Calculator

To get the most accurate estimate, follow these steps in the tool below:

1. Select Your Home Size:
Studio/1 Bedroom: Typically takes 2-3 hours with 2 movers.

2 Bedrooms: Typically takes 3-5 hours. We recommend 2 movers for smaller homes.

3+ Bedrooms: Typically takes 4-6+ hours. We strongly recommend 3 movers to keep the total time down.

Monday – Friday: We have a 3-hour minimum.
Saturday: We have a 4-hour minimum due to high demand.
Sunday: Overtime rates apply ($25 extra per hour/crew).

Check Stairs or Elevators. These add time to the move (approx. 20-30%), so checking them ensures your quote is realistic.

Understanding Your Moving Quote

You might wonder, “How is this total calculated?”
Here is exactly how our pricing works:

1. Our Hourly Rates

We keep it simple. Your moving quote is based on the size of the crew you need:

2 Movers + Truck: Starts at $160/hr (Cash/Check).
3 Movers + Truck: Starts at $210/hr (Cash/Check).
Note: If the move goes past the minimum, we charge in 15-minute increments, so you never pay for a full hour you didn’t use.

2. What is “Double Drive Time”?

You will see this on every legal moving quote in California. State law does not allow us to charge for the time it takes to drive from our office to your house.
Instead, the law allows for Double Drive Time between the loading and unloading addresses.

Example: If it takes 30 minutes to drive from your old house to your new house, we add another 30 minutes to the bill to cover our return trip.

3. Payment Options

We accept Cash, Personal Checks, Zelle, and Credit Cards.

Cash/Check: You get our lowest base rate.
Credit Card: We add a small processing fee of $5 per hour.

To ensure a smooth move, please be aware that the following variables will impact the final total:

Inventory Volume

The total amount of items to be moved. Adding items on the day of the move that were not included in the initial walkthrough will increase time.

Property Size & Layout

Factors such as long hallways, multiple flights of stairs, elevator wait times, or long-distance carries from the front door to the truck.

Furniture Services

The time required to disassemble and reassemble complex furniture (beds, desks, wardrobes).

Appliances

Disconnecting, moving, and reconnecting major appliances.

Packing Status

The level of readiness. If items are not boxed, taped, and ready for transport upon arrival, our team will assist with packing at the standard hourly rate.

Specialty Items

Handling of fragile, oversized, or extremely heavy items (e.g., pianos, safes, large glass tops).

Access & Parking

Difficulty securing parking for the moving truck or navigating narrow streets.

If your new home isn’t ready yet, we offer short-term storage (60 days or less). Rates start at $8/day for a studio/1-bedroom load.
